Well you know that Lauren Moffatt is one of fav designers in our stores. We love her for her amazing vintage school-girl inspired clothing. We love her for use of unique fabrics and texures and her exclusive prints designed by Lauren. We love her for keeping her line so small and exclusive....and hard to find!

We love that everytime we go to NY market, Lauren is there working the show, meeting with her accounts and telling each pieces's story. Lauren is so unassuming and real, just like her clothing.

Pirate Chic!

You heard me, pirate chic is the perfect look for the beach this Spring and Summer. Beautiful lace, gauze tops and lots of jewelry...how could you go wrong?

I mean, afterall, who doesn't love THE Captain Jack Sparrow and his stylish wardrobe?

Meet Me on Twelfth St!

Everytime we get a shipment from Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent I am literally already counting down for our next one. Each piece is flawlessly put together, all the way from detail, color and fit,  making it so hard for us to even keep her stuff in our stores!!!

Did you know that Cynthia Vincent won the Silver Thimble award in 1988 while she studied at Otis Parsons School of Design?

She was also the head designer for Jane Ong and Co., Ltd. in London.

Cynthia launched Twelfth Street in 2003 during L.A. Fashion Week at the fall Mercedes Benz Show.

Trina Turk Swim 2012

Trina Turk = I couldn't be more happy about swimsuit season! Her bathing suits are so fabulous, fit amazingly and feel like heaven. Here are a couple of our new arrivals:

Just because you're in a bathing suit doesn't mean you can't accesorize! These Tom Ford sunglasses look so chic on the beach. The gold rims compliment the the gold buckle on the shoulder and the cuff ties everything together!

Trina Turk is great about making cover-ups to match her bathing suits! Don't forget to notice that to-die-for Tory Burch Bag. The side is a cut-out TB pattern and then lined with a clear plastic lining - Perfect for the beach!

This is my favorite print! We have it in a strapless style and a one-piece style as well and I want all 3 of them : ) By the way, Tory Burch is a genius even when it comes to sunglasses!

 

TUCKER TRUNK SHOW...yippe, woo hoo

Love prints or hate prints.....EVERYONE loves a good Tucker silk blouse custom-made with designer Gaby Barosa's famously fabuous prints. 

We are thrilled, ecstatic and honored to be hosting yet another annual Thanksgiving            

 Tucker Trunk Show.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you all know and love a good Tucker top, dress or tunic. We are on the edge of our seats each season in antcipation to see Gaby's new amazing prints, sure to fill our closets. They are staples in my wardrobe. In my opinion, you can't have too many Tucker blouses. I think I may have around 15 and love each one of them just as much as when I opened the box and squeeled with glee for my new fav crazy print. They are made of beautiful silks and the most amazing colors...a "forever" top in my closets.

So we all know about a Tucker top or dress,  but what do we know about designer, Gaby Barosa?? Well CIndy and I finally met her at this last NYC market in Sepember. It came as no surprise, she is pretty darn cute and super cool.

Gaby Basora is still shocked that the loose-fitting peasant blouse with bold prints she made for herself and sold to friends five years ago, turned her into an international design sensation. Her unforeseen good fortune began at dinner one night, when a friend introduced her to a Barneys New york buyer and a meeting was arranged.

“I arrived at Barneys with swatches stapled to paper,” says Ms. Basora. “I had no idea what I was doing.”

Barneys did. They spotted a trendsetter, and placed an order for 400 blouses in 30 of her distinctive prints. Six weeks later, the retailer ordered 2,000 more. She filled the order by working with the New York City factory that had done her initial friends-and-family batch.

Her style has been described as "eclectic bohemian".  The designer says she used to enlarge candy wrappers to see how they’d work as a print for a blouse. I wonder where those crazy names for the prints come from???

Gaby has taken her company from making a few tops for friends, to over 55,000 pieces a season and over an estimated $5 million in sales, in just a few short 4 years.  (some info from article by Tina Traster)

It has been so fun to introduce the line to hundreds of new customers who are just as loyal as Willow. We can't imagine where this lovely little line will go...but Willow is on board. Lots of love for Tucker!!!!

Karen Zambos fall favs

Still can't believe we are getting tons of fall in when it is record high temps into the triple digits, but we are...and it is selling fast! Some customers just really seem to get that "ya snooze ya lose" thing around Willow. Well this is one of my lines I love for fall and def some of the fall stuff that has flown out of the door.
