time to decorate...for Christmas??

In the retail business, we are supposed to bring what's hot to you before you know it? Well as I sit here on this absolutely gorgeous Sunday in Seaside, Florida (in the store), I realize, it's time for us to decorate the stores for Christmas. I guess we put Christmas decorations up really early to remind you to get your Christmas shopping list started!!!   Holy crap that came fast this year.

So, what to do to decorate??? Hmmmmm.... I always love something very natural. Branches (with a little gold spary paint) suit me just fine. Then I started looking at how beautiful Christmas can be.

Well I am inspired! I don't have the time or PATIENCE to do probably anything above, but Kav is taking me to cut down some treasures in the woods this afternoon. Stay tuned...maybe I'll put some pics up! I sure wish the Anthropologie window merchandiser could take a little visit here.

BTW....get started on your Christmas wish list! Here the first thing on mine. Love this coffee table book. hint hint.

 

Not Just Your Granny's Jewelry

Ok, so my friend Mallory and I have a new obsession; vintage jewelry.  Remember her, the post on "Mallory's Pad"??? (back in September 09').  She is very very stylish, from head to toe and floor to ceiling. We get on these kicks: fabric, pillows, light fixtures, lamps, shoes, bags.....well ok, I know most girls do. But we are different, we talk about it on the phone in search of these things all day, everyday. It becomes a problem with our friends, family, jobs or any other responsibilities that we need to actually take care of.

Anyway, we have been stuck for a while on vintage jewelry...specifically gold mixed with white.

We travel high and low to find some of the coolest vintage pieces. It is tough work, but we really love and it is scary how similar our taste is.

You all know how I covet anything gold...Mal too!!

Well, she came to the beach to visit tonight and we have laid out all of our recent finds..... How neat is it to know you probably have the only piece like it and to think of each piece's story!!! 

I can't wait to post pics of some of the pieces ...soon to be available in Willow.

over/under

Morgan and I are sitting up here at Willow today. We are the two self-proclaimed OCDers of the bunch, so we love talking about it and fixing stuff "the right way". Today we are in deep thought over an issue.

Do you care which way the TP rolls??? Apparently there is much debate about the over/under flow.

For once in my life, I don't care. I did read a fact that it is more efficient if the roll flows over. Morgan said in her house it has to flow over. So, we wanna know what y'all think?

I was in Birmingham this past weekend for a visit and ended up decorating, or attempting, to decorate a house. (will post pics one day) I think I flew into every store opened on Sunday. This means I was limited to stores where you have to really dig....ya know, TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning, Pier One, blah blah. Since I am a retailer myself, this is not my idea of fun. Tons of Sunday lurkers, as we refer to them, and NO customer service at all.

So, it's the end of the day and I am running out of steam and the patience is long gone, when I spot this perfect pair:

I immediately think ..... these are so perfect for Willow. They just screamed Kelly Wearstler/Trina Turk Palm Beach. If we would have had a million dollars, and I really mean $1,000,000.00, that is exactly how Willow would have looked....perfection.

Back to my point: ok, so lamp in hand, impatient and starving..I tell these beauties I will be back for them in the a.m;  I mean, who in the world is going to see how uber-cool these are in Birmingham Alabama...no offe nse to my home state.

Monday, first thing, I bust through the doors and to my dismay....only 1 horsey is there. Who buys ONLY ONE of these....AND WHO BOUGHT MY HORSE HEAD????? Panic mode...have to find him,  must have him.

I have searched high and low, literally calling 35 Home Goods stores and they have all just been sold!!!!!

 

He is so happy already at Willow...just like one of us:

 

But he is sooooo lonely. Please help us. If you have a Home Goods store in your town...find his friend and email me. We will send for him or her. I am on a mad crazy mission. (OCDing...)
