Thankful....

Just 2 short years ago, our beloved gulf coast suffered one of the world's worst oil spill disasters on our fragile ecosystem and already seasonal economy. By the grace of God and much support and prayers from many giving people and loyal visitors, we are bouncing back and our coast is more beautiful that ever. On this beautiful gulf coast morning, we are so thankful to God!!!!!!!!!!

Trina Turk = I couldn't be more happy about swimsuit season! Her bathing suits are so fabulous, fit amazingly and feel like heaven. Here are a couple of our new arrivals:

Just because you're in a bathing suit doesn't mean you can't accesorize! These Tom Ford sunglasses look so chic on the beach. The gold rims compliment the the gold buckle on the shoulder and the cuff ties everything together!

Trina Turk is great about making cover-ups to match her bathing suits! Don't forget to notice that to-die-for Tory Burch Bag. The side is a cut-out TB pattern and then lined with a clear plastic lining - Perfect for the beach!

Another great cover-up to throw on with any bathing suit!

This is my favorite print! We have it in a strapless style and a one-piece style as well and I want all 3 of them : ) By the way, Tory Burch is a genius even when it comes to sunglasses!

 

Not Just another dinner party......

Last night Kav and I went to a dinner party at some of his old college golf friends. We had a great time, beautiful house, amazing food and wine and fun new friends. Everything you hope a good Christmas dinner party holds for you. After dinner we had a big surprise: A Big Toy

Oh yea that is the OG (original) National Lampon's Christmas Vacation RV. Yep Cousin Eddie's sweet ride!!

Do you know of a better Christmas comedy?? We had a little fun with it.

Hawaii, Bermuda...Rosemary Beach!!!!

Just returning from our Spain ~ France  (run with the bulls, catch the Tour de France and everyting in between) summer vacation. We had an AMAZING time. Because we traveled to 10 or so different cities, we used TripAdvisor.com a ton for restaurants and hotels. I was so scared we were gonna end up a one of those restaurants who serves only the creatures we saw for sale at the local butchershops....ekkkk!! 

Guess what little Top 10 jewel we stumbled upon while on TripAdvisor.com...

Guess our little  Southern slice of Heaven of 30a is no secret any more. 

 

{Tres TULUM}

I recently got to go on a much needed vacation.

Now that all of 30a is gearing up for all you spring breakers 2011, all I can think about is how much I want to be back on my very own beach get-away.

This is where I went:

Here is TULUM, MEXICO...and it is fabulous!!!!

Here on 30a (Rosemary, Dune Allen, Blue Mtn, Seaside, Watercolor, etc), many people think we have one of the prettiest white sandy beaches in the world. I happen to be one of those believers, but Tulum gives us a pretty good run for our money.

Having never been to Tulum, I packed for a typical Carribean-ish vacation. Sundresses, silk tops, cover-ups and bathing suits. As we turned onto the beach front road of Tulum, I quickly realized all the silk stuff was just taking up room in my suitcase when I should have put more tees and shorts. 

Tulum is an eco-friendly very raw bohemian beach town. Super cool yet casual, and the most amazing food and drinks I have ever had. 

Most of the restaurants were open air like this one, Hartwood. Wood burning stoves and everything freshly picked from the garden that day. Here I had a watermelon jalapeno margarita. Yummmm

Sunrise...I caught it every morning. It was breath taking.

One of the Mayan Ruins. We climbed to the top...over 13 stories. Coming down was even scarier. 

Little Taco!!

Came home with some hammocks..not sure why, but they are everywhere.

This was the most scared I have been in a LONG time. I had to jump into that water above, after walking through the jungle, passing a Mayan with a machete and no telling what other creatures I stepped on in my Rainbows...eekkkkk!

But once you are in and swim a little ways....it is magical

If you are thinking chips and salsa..it's Mexico..Nope, this is what they brought even before we ordered.

So what did I wear:

Such a wonderful trip. If you have the chance..go to Tulum. Pack light; lots of bathing suits. And beware, most people aren't wearing anything on the beach. 




 

Gotta get some Green

This past weekend I took a trip to Savannah and Charleston. It was great, but I felt like I was on sensory overload. There are so many amazing things to see. The Sister Cities have some of my favorite architecture in the world. I tried to take tons and tons of pics, but as usual managed to only get a few. (to be posted soon)

Yesterday I was fumbling my way down King Street and saw the cutest design store, South of Market. Then it hit me, I know this place. Kay, the owner and designer, shops in our Rosemary store. Not only is she incredibly kind, but unbelievably talented and savvy.

 

I have always wanted to go into one of her stores and it was worth the wait. Gorgeous upholstered pieces, unique light fixtures, great coffee table books (my newest obsession) and lots of to die for pops of color. So here is what I can't stop thinking about:

 
Aren't they fabulous????? I want to take everything out of my house and start over with these. I have this old pea-coat from Banana Republic, back when I used to shop for clothes (YEARS) and it is this color. People attack me when I wear it, so I think I need these chairs to match.

Life's A Beach...

Whether you are watching the sunset here on 30a or walking the boardwalk at Tybee Island, I think October is the best month to go to the beach!!!
80 degrees during the day and 65 at night. Not to mention, 30a is on the butterfly migration route and they are everywhere.

 Lauren Leonard {right}, fellow Roll Tide alum, is the designer of Leona. She is pictured here with our cutie pie rep, Amanda. Lauren's precious collection screams "girly-girl" and sort of subtly whispers "sexy". We {heart} all of the sweet ruffles and bows.
